Fall 2017 - Spring 2018

REGISTRATION FEE: A $40 per student non-refundable registration fee is due at time of registration and is not included in the total tuition.

AUDITION FEE: A $30 per student non-refundable audition fee is due for all students auditioning for an ensemble and/or the MYSP orchestra program and is not included in the total tuition. 2016-2017 MYSP students continuing in the MYSP program for 2017-2018 do not need to pay the audition fee.

PAYMENT PLAN FEE: Families who would like to enroll in a payment plan should submit a $35 payment plan fee (per family per year) at the time of registration. Please see our "Registration and Payment" webpage for more information on payment plans.

Suzuki Program
The Suzuki program runs full-year, however, new students may enroll mid-year and tuition will be prorated. Students attend weekly lessons as well as a weekly group class. Tuition may be paid in two installments - 50% due at registration, 50% due on or before November 1, 2017.

  • Group classes range from 45-60 minutes depending on the playing level of the students. All first-year Suzuki students will begin with 30-minute group classes during the first year of playing. Please refer to the Suzuki webpage for more information about group classes.
  • Suzuki violin students playing in early Book 5 or above who are enrolled in the advanced Suzuki group class are strongly encouraged to audition for the MYSP orchestra program. If accepted, these students will receive a 20% discount on MYSP tuition.
  • Accompaniment is provided once per month for advanced group classes.

Early Childhood & Group Piano Classes

Keys for Kids®, Hi-Five Piano, and Piano Partners classes are full-year programs. Tuition for full-year programs may be paid in two installments - 50% due at registration, 50% due on or before November 1, 2017.

  • Students in group piano classes are registered for the full year of 32 classes between September - June.
  • Keys for Kids® classes require the parent/caregiver to attend the class (no additional cost). Hi-Five Piano and Piano Partners classes are designed for the student to study without the parent.

  • Suzuki students playing up through Book 5 enrolled in a group class will receive a 20% discount on MYSP.

  • Accepted Conservatory scholarship students receive a 50% discount on MYSP tuition (only one discount applies per program per student).

Ellen Huff Powers Merit Scholarships

Conservatory Student scholarships
The Conservatory program offers merit scholarship assistance to passionate, dedicated students ages 9-18 (through Grade 12) who wish to pursue strong classical training. Acceptance into the Conservatory program is contingent upon a completed registration form, enrollment in 60-minute lessons, theory, and MYSP and/or an ensemble, a successful placement audition, and recommendation from the student’s private lesson teacher. There is no withdrawal from lessons, theory, orchestra or ensembles for Conservatory students, except under extenuating circumstances. Please visit the Powers website or call the office for information about applying.

  • MYSP – 50% off tuition*, Chamber Ensemble – 20% off tuition*

MYSP Merit Scholarships
Merit scholarships may also be offered for First Chair positions in the MYSP Chamber Orchestra depending on available aid. Please let us know at your MYSP audition if you are interested in a chair position or would like to be considered for a merit scholarship.
