Hello, and welcome to Powers Music School!
This is my first year at Powers and as I’m settling into my office and getting into the flow of things, one thing has struck me – Powers has an incredible faculty. While any music school will boast a talented group of teachers, Powers stands out on many levels.
- 75% of Powers’ faculty hold advanced degrees in music.
- 25% hold certifications in Suzuki, Dalcroze, or other teaching methods.
- Many have toured nationally and internationally, performing at venues like Carnegie Hall, the famed CBGB’s nightclub, and seemingly everything in between.
- Two have received Grammy nominations for their recordings.
- Others have appeared at the world’s most prestigious festivals like Tanglewood, Aspen, and Spoleto.
- Powers’ faculty have won numerous regional, national, and international competitions, like the World Piano Festival, Herbert von Karajan Competition, and Fischoff Chamber Music Competition.
The more you explore, the more you’ll see that Powers’ greatest asset is our teachers. Not just for their accomplishments, but for their warmth and ability to inspire students of all ages to their fullest potential.
Start here to learn more about the people who bring music and joy to Powers. Whether you’re 92 and looking to rekindle a passion for music, or have a young budding musician under 5, there’s someone here who’s in your corner.
Best wishes,
Gavin Farrell
