Hello, and welcome to Powers Music School!

For me, what makes Powers a special place is a unique combination of history and innovation. Our school began as Belmont’s first piano festival 55 years ago and has evolved into a thriving cultural landmark where folks of all ages and walks of life come to sing and play together.

Our focus on the community and its evolving needs are what spur Powers to try new things. This year, we’re unveiling new Workshop Weeks, expanding offerings in voice and percussion, and partnering with the Belmont Council on Aging and Belmont Public Schools.

Oh – and the piano festival that gave us our humble start? This year, we’ll welcome over 300 pianists from across the region for 3 days of performances!

I’m excited about the many things we have in store for this year. Powers continues to grow and change in ways that support our students and bring transformative experiences. We hope you’ll join us for a class, a workshop or a concert this year!

Best wishes,

Gavin Farrell
