Instrument Rentals

Powers offers a number of select instruments that are available to rent, including an extensive viol collection, harp, drum kit, tympani, and limited number of violins and cellos for those applying for financial aid.

Rental agreements are by separate contract, and damage deposits are required. To rent instruments, a credit card must be on file. Please contact the Registrar at 617-484-5750 ext. 1 for more information or questions.

Rental periods:

  • Full year Rental: September 1 - August 15. If the instrument is needed for the following year, it first must be returned to the office by August 15 so that the instrument can be checked out for any appropriate maintenance. 
  • Fall Semester Rental: September 2017  - January 2018
  • Spring Semester Rental: January 2018 - May 2018
  • Summer Semester Rental: June 2018 - August 2018

Rental fees:

  • Tympani (1-7 days) $175
  • Viol, full year $450
  • Viol, semester $200
  • Viol, 3 months $100
  • Full-size instrument, full year $450
  • Full-size instrument, semester $225
  • Student-size instrument, full year $250 
  • Student-size instrument, semester $150
