June 23 - August 14, 2008       Monday-Thursdays
Starting at age 6.

Bassoon, cello, clarinet, dulcimer, electronic keyboard, flute, French horn, guitar, penny whistle,percussion, piano, recorder, saxophone, Suzuki cello, Suzuki guitar, Suzuki violin, trombone, trumpet, violin, viola, voice.

The summer months are a wonderful time to begin a new instrument or to learn new techniques on the one you already play! With fewer outside activities demanding time, students are better able to focus on their musical studies. Scheduling of lessons during the summer is flexible. Please inquire.

Private lesson tuition:
        30 minute -- $ 224 (6 lessons)
        45 minute -- $ 320 (6 lessons)
        60 minute -- $ 411 (6 lessons)

Suzuki lesson tuition:
        30 minute -- $ 252 (6 lessons)
        45 minute -- $ 372 (6 lessons)

Students may register for less or more than a 6 week term. No make-ups will be given during the summer.

Note: Suzuki lesson tuition is adjusted from fall/spring to reflect that students will not receive weekly group lessons during the summer.

KEYS FOR KIDS
June 9 - July 15, 2008       6 weeks

Instructor: Susanna Fiore

Keys for Kids provides the perfect musical introduction for young children introducing students to pitch training, rhythm, singing, solfege, and keyboard performance.

During the summer, classes are offered for both the beginning Keys students as well as students who have already begun their Keys program. The Intro-to-Keys classes are designed to provide students with a head start for the fall semester. Students must have a piano or keyboard at home to practice.

CLASSES FOR NEW KEYS FOR KIDS STUDENTS

No previous piano experience needed. Parent participation is required for the Mini Keys Ensemble and suggested for the Kinder Keys, and Super Keys Ensembles.

    Mini Keys Ensemble        Ages 4 - 5 years

    Kinder Keys Ensemble    Ages 6 - 7 years
            4:45 - 5:15 pm
    Super Keys Ensemble      Ages 8 - 11 years

CLASSES FOR CONTINUING KEYS FOR KIDS STUDENTS

Students who have previously participated in the Keys For Kids program.
(Parent participation is required for Group 1, but is optional for Group 2.)

JAZZ AND BLUES PIANO
June 10 - July 15     6 weeks

The 12 bar blues form is the foundation of many rock, pop and jazz tunes. In this class students learn to play chords, melody, boogie-woogie, and walking bass and to improvise with a blues scale. Classes include ensemble and solo playing. This class is open to all students who have completed Super Keys 2, 3, 4 or two years of private piano instruction.

MUSIKGARTEN: All Together Now
June 9 - July 14     6 weeks

Activities will be tailored to meet the needs of various ages and abilities. Singing, listening, guided and free movement activities, exploring instruments, circle and partner games are all part of a Musikgarten class.

SUZUKI VIOLIN MUSICAL KIDS
June 12 - July 17   6 weeks

This program is designed as a precursor to the Suzuki method of private instruction. Following the Suzuki model students begin work with box instruments. Suzuki Musical Kids is a great introduction to a musical instrument and provides a foundation for further study on any instrument. A parent/caregiver is required to attend all classes and will receive instructions on how to practice at home with their child.

SUZUKI CELLO WORKSHOP
June 25 - 27     3 days

This 3-day workshop is open to all cello students who currently play in Suzuki books 1 and above. During the workshops, students will work on polishing repertoire and improving both their solo and group performance skills. During the workshops, students will have group lessons in singing, theory, and movement. There will be a group performance on the last of class. Snacks will be provided. Instructor: Rebekah Hood

Wednesday - Friday   Ages 4 and up

        2:30 - 5:00 pm

Note: Students must be able to play "Twinkle" and "French Folk Song" to enroll in this workshop. Parent/caregiver participation at the lessons is NOT required (except for students ages 6 and younger).
