Soprano Jessica Cooper balances a life of teaching with family and an active performance career. She started the Music Pups program at Powers in 2013, and has loved teaching families how to be musical together since 2013. Jessica is on the faculty of U. Mass Boston in the Performing Arts department, and most recently was appointed a voice teacher position at the St. Paul School in Concord, New Hampshire. She was called “a welcome addition to Boston’s top rank of Handel sopranos” by the Boston Globe, and actively performs repertoire ranging from Renaissance and Baroque to Classical and New Music. Jessica most recently has founded and is the Artistic Director for the Henry Purcell Society of Boston, a 501(C)3 organization, found at www.BostonPurcell.org. Ms. Cooper has appeared as a soloist in such prestigious groups as the Handel and Haydn Society, Boston Cecilia, Emmanuel Music, the Newton, Wellesley, and Nashua Symphonies, Portland Symphony and Chorus, the La Jolla Symphony and Chorus, and Florida Northwest Symphony. She has appeared on WBGH in recital live, and in numerous recitals and chamber concerts across New England. Jessica was a finalist in the New England Regional Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions for two years in a row.
