POWERS MUSIC COMES TO BROOKLINE
Powers Music School is excited to announce that we are partnering with the JCC Early Learning Center of Brookline to make two of our most popular programs more available to our greater Boston community! We will now be teaching Music Makers and Kids Crescendo classes on the JCC’s Brookline campus. Come join our wonderful and skilled instructors to understand and experience music through movement, story, and song, with activities rooted in the popular Dalcroze Eurhythmics method of learning. Your child will listen to and participate in live music, translating their energy into music-making by stomping, clapping, and tapping. They will learn basic pitch-matching and melodies, hearing and expressing the music with their voices.
Skills build up day by day until the final performance, where students showcase what they have learned in an operetta arranged by the faculty, the culmination of the goals they have worked towards as a group. Students leave at the end of the program wanting to continue with piano, violin, voice, or even another instrument. It’s a fun and creative way to feel the rhythm inside of them and start them on their music journey!
Classes will be taught by Powers instructor Linda Emmanuel.
