Vocal Classes

Singing for Kids
Ages 5-9
Nurture your child’s love of singing with a program that gives the youngest singers the tools to further their interest while building a foundation for future participation in our chorus programs and voice lessons. Borrowing elements from the traditional Dalcroze Eurhythmics method, this singing class focuses on developing the basic elements of music: melody, harmony, rhythm and ear training, all important in developing the young singer. Students will learn how to work together as an ensemble and to express their creativity through song, movement, and the fundamental language of music. There will be performances given during the year.

Choral Explorers
Ages 6-10
An introduction to the world of vocal music, our youngest students will explore the wonderful sounds their voices can make. Students will learn pitch matching and listening, blending tone and dynamics. Clapping and counting games establish an internal sense of rhythm and, combine with tones and text (words), develop executive function and encourage concentration. Exposure to simple classical, folk, and world music in foreign languages engenders an awareness and appreciation of different cultures. 2 fun, public performances per year will build the confidence of these young stars!
