About the Stein Chamber Music Festival
2020 marked the 45th Stein Chamber Music Festival, a musical celebration that gives area musicians an opportunity to perform and enjoy chamber music. The Festival was created in 1975 to honor the memory and accomplishments of Joseph Stein, long-time Belmont resident and music supporter. The Festival now also honors his wife, Lise Stein, who passed away in 2007. The Steins’ love of chamber music lives on in this spectacular evening.
The festival includes music of all genres performed by musicians of all ages, ranging in abilities from beginning students to amateurs and professionals. Each year the Festival is exciting, enjoyable, and always exceptional. We have had a wonderful contingent of younger performers in the past, and we encourage more to join in this year as well.
2022 Festival Details
The Festival is open to chamber students and musicians of all ages and levels of proficiency! String music is particularly encouraged. Remember – even a duet is considered chamber music!
Please use this link to sign up to participate in the festival by December 15, 2021.
Your music selection should be well prepared and last approximately 6 minutes.
Please request a first choice performance time (either 5:30 or 7:30 pm) that works best for your group. We will do our best to honor requests for specific performance times. (Students will be placed based roughly on age and level.)
In between the 5:30 and 7:30 pm concert times, we will have a potluck dinner and reception. Please bring a dish to share!
