early childhood music at Powers

Early Childhood & Elementary

We get it – parenting is complicated and often stressful. Whether you want to expose your kids to different activities to see what sticks, or whether you already hope music will become a lifelong passion for them, how do you know you’re making the right choice?

Our fun and educational programs give you the confidence that you’re doing everything you can for your children, both in music and in life. All of our classes for little ones give them the best age-appropriate foundation to continue on their music journey, or just explore. They’ll build language and motor skills, boost confidence and creativity, and gain a deep appreciation for all kinds of music in the world. And it’s fun for parents and caregivers to learn, too!

Wondering where your child fits in?

Your children will learn what music is…

Little ones start in the The Music Class® program to sing, dance, and play with you in a relaxed, judgment-free environment. Next, they’ll move on to Dalcroze Eurhythmics to make their own music, improvise, and learn how music is written.

Then try it on their own…

Does banging on drums sound fun? Try our Happy Beats class to explore percussion. Does your son or daughter love to sing? Singing for Kids might be your best bet. Is your child showing interest in the piano or keyboard? Piano Powers for Kids classes allow him to learn familiar songs quickly and gain confidence in playing. If you’re familiar with the Suzuki method of learning or would love to connect with a strong community of parents, the Suzuki Musical Kids class might be a great segway into private violin, viola, or cello lessons.

Then pursue what they love the most…

Belmont Public School students in grades 4-6 will find Saturday Morning Music School an awesome way to keep learning with their classmates. Ready for lessons? Our instructors teach more than 30 instruments, including piano, guitar, violin, voice, cello, flute, and so much more. If your preteen or teenager is comfortable with lessons and is ready to add more, then an ensemble, creative ability development, or music theory class will help her flourish and grow.

No matter which path you choose, you’ll be giving your young musicians the best foundation for future learning in music or for anywhere life takes them.

A few more reasons that Powers is a great option?

Friendly, expert instructors, affordable cost (even for twins!), a convenient location in the heart of Belmont, class and lesson times that work with your schedule, and plenty of free parking.
