Adult flute student 2

Adults

“It’s life-changing, and it’s never too late!” says one of our piano students about pursuing music as an adult. We agree!

Some hesitations we’ve heard from other adults?

  • I don’t have time to learn an instrument.
  • The younger students will judge me.
  • I’ll never be able to pick it up quick enough.
  • I’m not the musical one in my family.

You know yourself pretty well – your strengths and limitations, what interests you, how you learn best. Choosing a lesson teacher or a group program as an adult is sort of like trying on shoes – even if you’re not quite sure what you’re looking for, you know when it’s a good fit.

If your schedule is packed with family, work, or travel commitments, you’ll find options like private lessons, chamber ensembles or Irish sessions with Ellery flexible enough to fit in.

Recently retired and hoping to dive deeper into a genre of music? Our ensemble offerings like viola da gamba, jazz, or rock give you the opportunity to build your skills with others who share the same passion.

Ready to be brave and try something new? Try a theory class, adult piano, intro to guitar, appalachian dulcimer, or lessons in almost any instrument you’ve got your eye on.

Learn to play, or play to learn – there’s still time for something life-changing.
