Celine Ferro

Celine Ferro (she/her), is a versatile clarinetist from Rhode Island. Specializing in clarinet and bass clarinet instruction, Celine Ferro accepts musicians of all ages and levels. She takes on her students’ goals as her own, whether it is auditioning for districts, performing as part of a recital, or learning the latest-trending songs!

A dynamic chamber musician, she is a core member of the Kalliope Reed Quintet, with whom she has performed across New England and in Mexico; the Boston-based bass clarinet ensemble, Improbable Beasts, with whom she has performed across the U.S. and in Ireland; and the contemporary ensemble, Juventas New Music, where she can be heard on their recently released album Voices of the Land, featuring new music by Christina Rusnak, on the Navona Records label. Seeking diverse collaborations that take her work outside of the typical concert hall, she is also a member of the groove ensemble, Shibui, who she performs with frequently at the Lizard Lounge, and most recently, the Sinclair in Cambridge. Celine currently serves on faculty at the Winchester Community Music School and Powers Music School in Massachusetts. Celine holds a Bachelor of Music from the New England Conservatory as well as a Master of Music from the Boston University College of Fine Arts, yet she credits her first ever clarinet teacher, her mother Charlene Valk, who encouraged her to play the clarinet and achieve her dreams.
