Judy Bedford teaches bassoon, clarinet, and chamber ensembles at Powers Music School, and also serves as chair of the school’s Woodwind Department. She received Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees, as well as an Artist Diploma, from New England Conservatory. Playing both modern and period instruments, Judy has performed with Handel and Haydn Society, Boston Baroque, Pro Arte Orchestra, New England Composers’ Orchestra, Boston Pops, and Esplanade Pops, as well as many other orchestras and chamber ensembles throughout New England, New York, Pennsylvania, et al. In addition to Powers, she teaches at University of Massachusetts-Lowell and All Newton Music School (conductor of the New Winds Octet). Judy is an adjudicator for District auditions each year, and has also been an adjudicator for All-State auditions. Formerly a member of the faculties of Boston University, New England Conservatory, Northeastern University, and Eastern Nazarene College.
