Karen Gut

Karen moved to Massachusetts for college, after which she decided to make the Boston area her home. She has worked as a software engineer in various industries and is now a technical lead working in the healthcare IT sector. She enjoys mentoring junior programmers, especially training the next generation of women in STEM. She has volunteered on other boards including her children’s daycare and high school parent groups.

Karen’s connection to Powers Music School started when her children started lessons. A few years later, Karen became a Powers student herself when she decided to take up the bassoon in order to play chamber music with her children. She enjoys playing in small groups and meets up with friends to play music informally.
