Levon Hovsepian is a graduate of the Komitas Conservatory in Soviet Armenia, where he received a Masters degree. He has performed throughout Armenia, Estonia, Moldova, and appeared as a soloist with the Yerevan Symphony Orchestra. After attracting major critical attention in his home country, he was invited to study at Longy School of Music in Cambridge, where he received his Artist Diploma and a Master of Music degree with Honors. Levon made his New York debut in 1994, and became known for his romantic, compelling interpretative style, full of great honesty and integrity. He has appeared as a soloist in New York, Washington DC, and at the Greensboro Festival, as well as with the Salem Philharmonic and New England Philharmonic Orchestras. He has also performed and taught master classes at Music in La Coruna in Spain. His “Favorite Piano Masterpieces” CD has received play on Boston’s WGBH Radio and Montreal, Moscow, and Yerevan radio stations, and his new “Romance and Tango” CD features music by Astor Piazzolla. In addition to Powers, Levon teaches at Keys for Kids in Lexington.
