Micah Sakata

Micah was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. During his youth, he has lived in Hilo (Hawaii), Koloa (Kauai), and multiple cities in Oahu. He moved to Tokyo, Japan, during his high school years and eventually moved to Medford, MA, to attend Tufts University. Since high school, Micah has always been playing music. Primarily a singer, he has played in bands ranging in genres from the 50s and 60s, acoustic singer/songwriter, 80s electronia, 90s rock, and metal. He also co-founded, in 2004, one of Boston’s premier 70s era cover bands, Booty Vortex, which is still going strong 20 years later.

Micah currently lives with his wife, Stacey, in Watertown, and is a proud father of 2 girls, who have both been students at Powers. Eve is a cello player. Sylvia is a flautist and pianist, and is also a graduate member of the Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble at the NE Conservatory.
