Violinist Rose Baker is a teacher, performer, and arts administrator who is passionate about helping students discover how music fits meaningfully into their lives. She is a Resident Violinist at musiConnects, where she teaches violin and viola to students of all ages. Previously, Rose taught at The Piano Key (Seekonk, MA), interned at the Opus 118 Harlem School of Music (New York, NY), and taught private students for many years. She has completed Suzuki Violin Method teacher training in violin books 1-5.
Rose performs regularly with musiConnects’ faculty string quartet as well as at the Seven Hills Chamber Music Festival and in Lines and Spaces’ Community Concert Series. She has given solo and chamber music recitals in Massachusetts, Virginia, and New York and performed in masterclasses for Jennifer Koh, Jessica Bodner, Julia Glenn, and Sandy Yamamoto.
Rose is passionate about creative youth development and in 2024 she co-founded Lines and Spaces, a nonprofit organization with a free after-school music program and community concert series in Taunton, MA.
In addition to teaching her own students, Rose enjoys working with young musicians as an arts administrator at the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, where she serves as Resident Director. Rose holds degrees in violin performance from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and the Manhattan School of Music, where her primary teachers were Elizabeth Chang and Burton Kaplan.
