Suzuki Musical Kids

Suzuki Musical Kids

Age: Age 3-5

Cost: Fall or Spring Semester: $260 ($240 tuition + $20 registration fee)

Are you thinking about joining the Suzuki Program, but want to ease into it a bit? Are you unsure if your child is ready for private lessons yet?

The Suzuki Musical Kids group class is the perfect stepping stone to introduce you and your child to the Suzuki Method.

This group class introduction to the Suzuki Method will be interactive instruction where the teacher will help you create a fun and engaging musical environment for your child.

We call this a “pre-instrument class,” meaning students learn how to care for an instrument and develop the muscles to hold and play a violin correctly using a box instrument, without fear of dropping or damaging it. We’ll provide you with your box instrument and a packet of musical materials.

The Japanese teacher Shinichi Suzuki believed that every child can learn to speak, and then read, the language of music in a nurturing environment. It takes time for young kids to learn to “speak” the language of music, so while they’re learning about instruments, they’re also participating in fun, engaging general music activities like singing melodies, pitch recognition, creating rhythms, building fine motor skills, and the foundational skills needed to prepare for private lessons and the full Suzuki Program.
