Powers Practice Challenge

After several days of practicing daily, I was especially proud to finally be able to play a piece that means a lot to me: Swan Lake….I was so proud of myself, and this experience has made me want to keep learning and working hard on the piano! -Alix M., piano student

At the Powers Practice Challenge in March 2025, our students enthusiastically accepted the challenge to practice every day for a month! Each one of the stickers on our “Measures of Progress” wall chart represents a student who practiced every day that week. All in all, 68 students practiced every day in March, and 77 practiced for at least 15 days, for a total of 145 moments of musical and personal growth.

Through the power of consistent practice, our students built confidence at their instruments by improving their technique and learning new music. We’re so proud of their hard work, and can’t wait to see what they do next month!

practice challenge student Spotlight: Alix M.

Hi! My name is Alix, I’m almost 8 years old, and I have been learning to play the piano for 2 years at the Powers Music School.

During the Powers Practice Challenge, my amazing teacher, Tristan, supported and guided me every step of the way. After several days of practicing daily, I was especially proud to finally be able to play a piece that means a lot to me: Swan Lake.

At first, it was really difficult, but by practicing regularly every day, I managed to play it just a few days before going to see the Ballet with my mom.

I was so proud of myself, and this experience has made me want to keep learning and working hard on the piano!
