Get the Irish spirit of community, music, dance and “the craic” (Irish for “fun times”) going strong! We’re thrilled to invite you to our building and performance space for an evening of fun for all ages.

All are welcome!
(Especially families, students, older adults, and anyone who loves Irish music!)

RSVP here!

If you’re able, we ask for a suggested donation of $10 per person or $20 per family, which supports our band leaders, dance caller, and the educational mission of Powers.

Make a donation

  • Learn about and participate in Irish music and dance traditions
  • Listen to fiddle and folk music (or even play in the open band!)
  • Try some simple Irish “ceili dances” with instruction from a dance caller!

Led by:
Ellery Klein, Artistic Director for Powers’ String Traditions summer program, Irish music sessions, and fiddle department
Jaclyn O’Riley, dance caller, founder/director of O’Reilly Irish Dance
Dan Accardi, accordion
Devin McCabe, piano

Fiddlers, Irish flute/whistle, concertina, accordion and pipes are welcome to join the open
band, led by Powers fiddle teacher Ellery Klein. Email fiddlerellery@gmail.com if you’d like to be in the band!

This program is supported in part by the Belmont Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

Accessibility information: Powers currently requires guests to go up a short flight of stairs to the main floor of the school. We are committed to improving access to our building for those with limited mobility. The school is in the early stages of this large and important project, but there is no formal timeline set for when it will be started/completed as of yet.
