Sarah is currently the hornist in the Back Bay Brass (quintet) and third horn in the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, Atlantic Symphony, and Cape Ann Symphony. She has performed with many ensembles in the Northeast, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops Orchestra, Canadian Opera Company, Rhode Island Philharmonic, Portland Symphony Orchestra, Hartford Symphony Orchestra, Omaha Symphony Orchestra, Cape Cod Symphony, Boston Lyric Opera, Boston Landmarks Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Utica Symphony Orchestra, Woodstock (NY) Chamber Orchestra, and the Hudson Valley (NY) Philharmonic.
Born and raised in upstate New York, Sarah began her musical studies at the early age of four with the violin and at eight with the horn, adding the viola, trumpet and steel pans during high school. She moved to Rochester, NY to study with W. Peter Kurau at the Eastman School of Music; while there, she also studied horn with Jacek Muzyk and natural horn with Derek Conrad. After the completion of her Bachelors of Music degree, Sarah moved to Boston to pursue her Masters of Music degree and Graduate Diploma from New England Conservatory, where she studied with James Sommerville and Jason Snider.
